
After two years of passionate planning, the local nonprofit DFW Italians is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Second Annual DFW Italian Festival, celebrating the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Italy! This one-day extravaganza promises an unforgettable experience filled with mouthwatering Italian cuisine, exquisite wine tastings, captivating stage performances, an exhilarating bocce tournament, an impressive Italian car show, and exciting arts and crafts for kids.
Rain or shine, join us at the Levy Event Plaza located at 501 E. Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, TX 75039, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 12 PM to 9 PM. General admission tickets start at just $5, and kids aged 10 and under are free! Tickets can be conveniently purchased on our website (recommended) or in-person. Leading the festival is the dynamic David Lamberti, restaurateur of Lamberti’s Ristorante and Monaco, and president of DFW Italians. Alongside Vice-President Scott Pirnie and Dr. Anthony Nussmeir, Director of Culture and Heritage, Lamberti is eager to share their passion for all things Italian, celebrating its culture through the universal languages of food and wine.
This year’s festival is cashless, with food offerings ranging from $8 to $12. Local vendors will serve up a delicious array of culinary delights, including NY-style pizza, lasagna, pasta dishes, parmigiano fries, arancini, meatball sandwiches, sausage and pepper sandwiches, spiedini (roasted skewers), beef braciole (braised beef), roasted nuts, Italian candies, and decadent desserts like cannoli, tiramisu, frozen cheesecake, and gelato from Paciugo. For the adults, enjoy a selection of wines, sparkling options by Banfi, frozen Bellinis, Campari Negronis, and Aperol Spritz.
Expect an incredible lineup of performances on our main and cultural stages, featuring The Dallas Opera, the University of Dallas Chorale, the Mustang Chamber Choir, Opera on Tap, and a thrilling medieval Italian sword-fighting demonstration by Valiant: School of Arms. Highlighting the festival will be Amanda Pascali, a Houston-based singer-songwriter known for her Italian-inspired work, along with engaging cooking demonstrations. Founded by David Lamberti, Scott Pirnie, and Dr. Anthony Nussmeir, DFW Italians is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting Italian clubs across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Their mission is to celebrate, promote, and preserve the vibrant culture and heritage of Italy. Following years of planning, they proudly hosted the inaugural DFW Italian Festival in 2023. This year’s festival marks another milestone in their commitment to cultural celebration, taking place on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Funds raised during the festival support the next year’s DFW Italian Festival and contribute to various charitable causes, including the Special Olympics, the University of Dallas, and the North Texas Food Bank.
