Tarrant Area Food Bank and Lewisville ISD Launch Program Combat Child Food Insecurity

Tarrant Area Food Bank North (TAFB North) and Lewisville ISD are celebrating a major milestone in the fight against childhood hunger with the launch of the 100th Ready to Learn™ in-school market at the Lewisville Learning Center (LLC). This new market is a testament to the continued success of the Ready to Learn™ initiative, which directly addresses the critical need for food security among students while enhancing their ability to succeed in school.

The Ready to Learn™ program offers students a vital resource—the food they need to thrive academically. By offering a convenient, in-school market stocked with nutritious food, TAFB helps ensure children have access to healthy meals so they can focus on learning, not hunger. Through the generous support of TAFB’s donors, this milestone has been made possible, expanding the reach of this life-changing initiative.

With the expansion of in-school markets like this one, TAFB is not only providing food but also offering valuable nutrition education, empowering families and supporting the academic success and well-being of students.

Through partnerships like this one with Lewisville ISD, TAFB is bringing nutritious meals right to the heart of the school community, ensuring that students have the support they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond. The Ready to Learn™ initiative is more than a meal program; it’s a step toward a healthier, hunger-free future for the children of North Texas.
