Oscar Mayer’s Wienermobiles Will Race for Indy 500 Weekend

Oscar Mayer is cranking up the fun and mustard by launching the first-ever “Wienie 500,” a playful race featuring all six of its legendary Wienermobiles barreling around the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway—just in time for Indy 500 weekend.

These giant hot dogs on wheels will hit the track at 2 p.m. EST on Friday, turning the serious racing vibes into a hilarious, must-see showdown. It’s not just a race—it’s the first time in over ten years that all six Wienermobiles will gather for a “meat-up,” and their first ever competitive sprint. Expect everything from custom “Hotdogger” racing suits to a trophy ceremony in the famous ‘Wiener’s Circle,’ complete with condiment sprays and celebratory hot dogs for the winners to enjoy.

Each Wienermobile represents a unique regional favorite dog from across the U.S.: the Chi Dog from the Midwest, New York Dog from the East, Slaw Dog from the Southeast, Sonoran Dog from the Southwest, Chili Dog from the South, and Seattle Dog from the Northwest.

According to Kelsey Rice, Oscar Mayer’s brand communications director, the Indy 500 isn’t just about racing—it unofficially kicks off summer and the hot dog season, making the Wienie 500 the perfect warm-up event full of flavor, fun, and a little friendly competition.
