H-E-B in Mid-Cities Euless Opens Today

H-E-B bought the land for this store in 2015. The Mid-Cities location opens this morning at 6 a.m. at 2105 Rio Grande Blvd in Euless, in the Glade Parks development at the northwest corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard. Eleven years from land purchase to ribbon cutting is a long time to wait for a grocery store. The Hurst-Euless-Bedford corridor — which has shared its initials with the chain for decades without actually having one — is finally getting the real thing.

The store is 126,000 square feet and sits on the Bedford-Euless border, with 60 percent of the property in Euless and 40 in Bedford. The two cities reached a revenue-sharing agreement splitting property and sales tax equally. Bedford Mayor Dan Cogan called it the first H-E-B location at the geographic center of the Metroplex, which is close enough to accurate to make the point.

What’s inside is the full H-E-B operation — bakery, deli, produce, meat market, seafood, beer and wine, beauty, home goods, floral. The pharmacy has a drive-thru. There’s a fuel station with a car wash. Curbside pickup and home delivery are both available from day one. The hot food section carries tamales, rotisserie chicken, crawfish and shrimp, and freshly baked cookies — designed for the family that’s picking up dinner on the way home rather than cooking it.

The location is one of only 50 H-E-B stores nationwide to include a True Texas BBQ restaurant, the in-store barbecue concept that has been drawing serious attention in Texas BBQ circles. Brisket, ribs, sausage, and the full Central Texas lineup, inside a grocery store, in Euless. That’s the version of North Texas dining we don’t write about enough.

This is the third H-E-B in Tarrant County, following the Alliance location that opened in April 2024 and Mansfield in June 2024. A fourth Tarrant County location is in the works at The Shops at Chisholm Trail Ranch in far south Fort Worth. A Murphy store in Collin County breaks ground later this year. The Las Colinas location near I-635 and Olympus Boulevard in Irving is expected to open in late 2026. H-E-B’s North Texas expansion is not slowing down.

The Mid-Cities H-E-B is open daily. HEB.com for hours and curbside ordering. The address is 2105 Rio Grande Blvd, Euless, TX 76039.
