Mariano’s Margaritas + Cinco de Mayo

A North Texas legend in Tex-Mex dining, Mariano’s Hacienda is making festive waves this year by opening on a day it’s usually closed. On Monday, May 5, 2025, Mariano’s Hacienda and its sister restaurant La Hacienda Ranch will open from 3 PM to 9 PM for a one-day-only Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring exclusive specials.

Few drinks are more iconic than the margarita, and few places are more fitting to enjoy one than at Mariano’s — where the world’s first frozen margarita machine was invented in 1971 by founder Mariano Martinez. Today, that machine resides in the Smithsonian, but the original recipe is still served daily at the restaurant that started it all.

Mariachis and Party all Cinco de Mayo Weekend at Black Agave at Mercer Boardwalk

Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. And while it’s not really a popular holiday in Mexico, across Texas and much of the U.S. it has become a massive celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. North Texas’ most acclaimed new Mexican-inspired restaurant, Black Agave at Mercer Boardwalk in Farmers Branch, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a two-day fiesta on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.
