Out of the Fire and into the Fryer at Quincy’s Chicken Shack

We enjoyed a nice preview dinner at the newest endeavor from the people that bring you Truck Yard and Twisted Root.  Quincy’s Chicken Shack opened in Coppell about 3 months ago and is business is starting to pick up.  Named for co-owner Quincy Hart and loosely based on his family recipes, they wanted to give the place the vibe of hanging in someone’s back yard. Mission accomplished.  

Inside is a big open room with big barn doors and a massive Mason jar chandelier.  Family style picnic tables lined with hay bales for sitting. The hay bales were my only complaint of the night. They were not as comfortable as you would think. I did over hear that they were making a change to this so crisis averted.  A massive door opens up to the patio area. Filled with vintage style lawn furniture, tables, a lighted windmill and an old truck with its bed converted to a stage, it was one of the better patios I’ve been to lately and there’s nothing like it in that area. Carmel Restaurant and Lounge Open in Coppell


Carmel Restaurant and Lounge is now open in Coppell. Inspired by the fresh West Coast fare from Carmel, CA and the Mediterranean cuisine found in the Carmel Mountains, a coastal mountain range in Israel near the city of Haifa, menus reflect the fresh, flavorful fare from each region.

Now offering lunch and dinner menus, small plates to share as well as a bar bites in the newly renovated lounge, house favorites include Kadaif Wrapped Shrimp, Carmel’s Shrimp Sauté, Fresh Chilean Sea Bass, Israeli Skewers, and Fluffy-Crispy Falafel. A robust raw bar displays the ocean bounty including oysters, fish and lobster and a dedicated cheese case showcases imported cheeses.

A full bar with premium spirits, hand-selected wines available by the glass or bottle, classic cocktails and martinis including the signature Carmel-tini (vodka, raspberry liquor and pineapple juice) is complimented by a Bar Bite menu. Israeli Feta Samosa, Signature Hummus Dip, Tuna Tartare, Crab Cakes and Oven Roasted Carmel Goat Cheese highlight the extensive lounge menu. Happy Hour Monday – Friday (3pm-7pm) features $5 martinis and drink specials.   Continue reading

Simmer To Open In Coppell Jan 8

Coppell is home to a growing population of local and fresh dining. The latest to join ranks is Simmer located at 723 West Main Street and will feature modern comfort food, owned by Steve Cammack. Simmer is set to open for luncheon service at 11:30 Wednesday morning.    Continue reading
