Carmel Restaurant and Lounge is now open in Coppell. Inspired by the fresh West Coast fare from Carmel, CA and the Mediterranean cuisine found in the Carmel Mountains, a coastal mountain range in Israel near the city of Haifa, menus reflect the fresh, flavorful fare from each region.
Now offering lunch and dinner menus, small plates to share as well as a bar bites in the newly renovated lounge, house favorites include Kadaif Wrapped Shrimp, Carmel’s Shrimp Sauté, Fresh Chilean Sea Bass, Israeli Skewers, and Fluffy-Crispy Falafel. A robust raw bar displays the ocean bounty including oysters, fish and lobster and a dedicated cheese case showcases imported cheeses.
A full bar with premium spirits, hand-selected wines available by the glass or bottle, classic cocktails and martinis including the signature Carmel-tini (vodka, raspberry liquor and pineapple juice) is complimented by a Bar Bite menu. Israeli Feta Samosa, Signature Hummus Dip, Tuna Tartare, Crab Cakes and Oven Roasted Carmel Goat Cheese highlight the extensive lounge menu. Happy Hour Monday – Friday (3pm-7pm) features $5 martinis and drink specials.
Chef/owner Sammy Marshi, son of a refrigerator repairman, learned the trade and went to work at age 16 repairing the ice boxes of area fisherman and butchers. His business soon morphed into the largest kitchen design and build-out firm in Israel. Sammy worked closely with the finest chefs in Israel, learning recipes and techniques first hand; sharing his talents with friends and family at home. It was these experiences that cultivated his passion and discerning palate for fresh fish and meats before the family moved to Texas.
“Fresh, quality food has been important to our family for many generations,” says Alec Marshi. “Meal times should be a time for families and friends to nurture their relationships and we know DFW will embrace our passion for good food and service.”
With more than 3,000 square feet of interior as well as a large outdoor patio, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, private dining room, Carmel centers around a Birchwood and grape vine arrangement, delicately lit and designed by Denise Marshi whose background includes floral and interior design.
Carmel Restaurant and Lounge is located at 215 S. Denton Tap Road, Suite 100 in Coppell. Hours of operation are Monday 11am-3pm, Tuesday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am-10pm.
