Prime Rib French Dip at Matchbox

With slices of Angus beef, plus caramelized onions, mozzarella and zippy horseradish mayo piled onto a French roll this meaty, melty sandwich tastes decadent in or out of its accompanying au jus sauce. And while it really shouldn’t cost the $18 you’ll be charged, I think it’s worthy of being indulged in every once in awhile alongside Matchbox’s excellent fries and a pint or two of local suds from the bar.   Continue reading

Zagat Moves Into Dallas

We wish to congratulate our friend Farah Fleurima on her first day on the job with he Dallas version of Zagat. Farah is most famous for her work as the Dallas Diva, and has written for many publications including Belo and the Dallas Morning News.  We have been fortunate to have Farah contribute at craveDFW as well.

We find it important for the Dallas food scene to continue garnering positive, well thought out attention as with this national forum. We notice at her first day on the job Fleurima showcased the poutine at the Village Kitchen in Highland Park, and had a look at the Wine Poste.

Congratulations to our favorite Diva.

Effin-Good FNO Eats

Come this Thursday night, it’ll be nigh impossible not to find a party associated with Fashion’s Night Out, that evening of soirees that kicks off New York Fashion Week. Dallas happens to go all out for it, with every shopping establishment worth its salt throwing a cocktail-soaked mini-fete in honor of, well … shopping. But you need energy for the hours on end of high-heeled revelry, so here’s a little guide to where to feast (or nibble) pre-FNO, depending on your circumstance (call ahead, as most of these spots require reservations).
