Prime Rib French Dip at Matchbox

prime-rib-french-dipby Farah Fleurima

With slices of Angus beef, plus caramelized onions, mozzarella and zippy horseradish mayo piled onto a French roll this meaty, melty sandwich tastes decadent in or out of its accompanying au jus sauce. And while it really shouldn’t cost the $18 you’ll be charged, I think it’s worthy of being indulged in every once in awhile alongside Matchbox’s excellent fries and a pint or two of local suds from the bar.

Actually, for my buck, this juicy stack of meat, cheese and fixins beats the other one on the menu: Matchbox’s Bistro Burger. The incredible flavor, the juiciness of the meat, the gooey cheese and the au jus simply give the French dip an edge over the burger, in my book.
