Pecan Lodge To Open May 23 With Growlers, BBQ and Fun

For those sitting in wait for Pecan Lodge 2.0 to open in Deep Ellum, set your clocks for 7pm May 23rd. This is when the public will be able to sample the amazing brisket, sausages, ribs (both pork and beef) along with all the other fantastic things that has made the BBQ joint so legendary. The new digs are spectacular, and befit the vision that owners Diane and Justin Fourton have been furiously developing for the past year.

With news of the opening, and a preview for friends and media, there were some terrific announcements made last night. The first is that Pecan Lodge will now be selling growlers of beer. And to top off the brew news Four Corners Brewing Company came up with a new beer in their line up called The Boss Lady, which is named after Diane Fourton. The new beer, called Rustic Red, is actually a spin off of the brewing company’s American amber, Red Roja, that has been dry hopped for a special piquant flavoring backed with notes of stone fruit and citrus.    Continue reading

Pecan Lodge Begins Construction In Deep Ellum

Most of the barbecue loving public in Dallas knows some of the very best exists in the Dallas Farmers Market where you most often must wait in line for several hours to procure the lush brisket and very meaty ribs. It is time well spent communing with fellow passengers on the path to enlightenment. Pecan Lodge is a religious experience.

Word has spread like wildfire that Pecan Lodge is moving into new digs at 2702 Main Street in Deep Ellum. This has two very far reaching effects. First, you will no longer be waiting in line for barbecue (we assume). The new larger space will house far more than just slices of savory brisket, fried chicken and that giant haunch of pulled pork infused sweet potato, the Hot Mess. You will be allowed a beer or cocktail with your ‘cue, and there will be event space for those unruly holiday parties. And the menu will stretch its culinary legs and offer much more than the standard Pecan Lodge fare.    Continue reading

Pecan Lodge Has Insane Weekend And Joins Our Top Five List For BBQ In Dallas

Pecan Lodge has been one of our go-to spots for BBQ in Dallas since their debut at the Dallas Farmers Market. Owned by Diane and Justin Fourton, the duo has been busy making their mark on the BBQ landscape one rib at a time. And damn are those ribs tasty.

Recently the Fourton’s were featured on the Food Network slice of insanity, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. Not sure if this little restaurant that is located in the Market’s Shed Two qualifies as a dive or a diner, it certainly isn’t a drive-in. Regardless, the program made a huge impact on the young business.           Continue reading
