Evan’s Meat Market to Close August 18, But Its Legacy Lives on Through The PoBoy Shop

Evan’s Meat Market, the Dallas butcher shop known for its premium meats, Louisiana-style po’boys, and Cajun sides, will serve its final customers Monday, August 18. Though the shop is closing, its spirit continues at The PoBoy Shop in Preston Center.

Founded in January 2023 by Lafayette native Evan Meagher, the market was his first hospitality venture—a blend of butchery, Louisiana flavors, and personal connection. It quickly became a neighborhood favorite for its house-cured products, warm service, and authentic Cajun dishes.
