There is nothing that screams Texas more than a fine plate of post oak smoked brisket, and one of the best places to find this is at Lockhart Smokehouse. They have two location, the original in Bishop Arts, and the newest location in Plano. Whereas we love checking into Lockhart for savory meats and terrific sides, it would be fun to attempt a recreation at home. You’re in luck. After viewing this photo of today’s beef ribs at Lockhart, unless you are infirm or out of state, there is simply no decent reason not to join them for lunch today. I chewed half way through my USB cable lusting after this one.

Thanksgiving is upon us once again and all the gobblers are running for cover. To get you in the mood for a little fun and relaxation we asked a few chefs around Dallas a some questions so we get our dinner cooked just right. We will run their answers both today and tomorrow, so check back often to see how your favorite chef weighs in on the holiday.

Will Fleischman is the pit master and chef at Lockhart Smokehouse in the Bishop Arts District. He was featured as one of the top ten pit masters in the United States by Southern Living Magazine and has cooked around the world. Think of Will as a thinking man’s chef who has an affinity for post oak.

Lockhart Smokehouse Swims With The Fishes

It’s no secret that Will Fleischman at Lockhart Smokehouse has an amazing beard, or that he is cranking out some kick-ass BBQ in Bishop Arts. He is legend for his brisket, ribs, and sausages. Mid-week Fleischman cranks out his Flintstone-sized behemoth beef ribs, and sometimes the man entertains us with his now legendary rib-jam. Cocktails At Lockhart In Bishop Arts Just Got Better

Kenneth Gonzaba is shaking things up at Lockhart Smokehouse which is located in the Bishop Arts District just across the bridge in Oak Cliff. While Will Fleischman is busy stoking the fires and knocking out some of the best ribs and brisket in North Texas, the demand for a great beer and an even better cocktail is high in demand.

BBQ Pitmasters In Dallas This Weekend

The TLC program BBQ Pitmasters is making its way to Dallas for a taste. The program is hosted by a Food Network contestant, Kevin Roberts, who has written two books. His first is called “Munchies”, a cookbook that deals with fast snacks, and “Kissing in the Kitchen”, which instructs readers how to prepare romantic meals.              Continue reading
