How do you sell out one of the country’s hottest restaurants with a prix fixe menu at $100 per plate? Secure in the knowledge that you will have 100% attendance with dozens more clamoring for tickets. Oh, and did I forget to mention that this little miracle occurs in the span of 20 seconds? It’s actually rather simple. You open your restaurant to Café Momentum, the concept developed to train young men detained in the Dallas County Youth Village in the culinary arts from the ground up.    Continue reading

Make Your Reservations For Spoon And Oak Cliff Cellars Wine Dinner

On Wednesday, March 13, Chef John Tesar will host a special dinner at Spoon Bar & Kitchen featuring wines from Oak Cliff Cellars paired with seafood from waters around the globe.

Menu highlights include cuttlefish crudo with jalapeño, hearts of palm and pink peppercorns paired with Lake County Sauvignon Blanc; squid ink spaghetti with little neck clams, pork belly, preserved lemon, garlic and arugula paired with Twisted Root Vineyard Chardonnay; and swordfish “steak” with wild mushroom crust and red wine squid ink sauce paired with Mourvedre.  Continue reading

Oak Cliff Cellars Celebrates Third Year In Dallas Market

JR Richardson, president of Oak Cliff Cellars, held a reception Sunday to celebrate his third year of having his wines available in the Dallas area. The gathering was held at the Mary Tomas Gallery on Dragon Street in the Design District and was catered by Bridge Bistro owned by  Kay Agnew.

Agnew, a good friend of Richardson, was on hand as well as a few area somms that enjoy the Oak Cliff Cellar wines such as Michael Flynn from the Mansion on Turtle Creek.   Continue reading

Oak Cliff Cellars Wine Dinner At Bridge Bistro Featuring Chef Joel Harloff

Chef Joel Harloff from the Second Floor restaurant in the Westin Galleria Dallas joins forces with JR Richardson, owner of Oak Cliff Cellars at a very special dinner this Wednesday evening at the Bridge Bistro in the Design District.
