Capriotti Sandwich Shop Opens In Preston Center

the bobbieby Steven Doyle

A new Capriotti Sandwich Shop opened today in Preston Center, 6112 Luther Lane in Dallas. Look for fresh subs, sandwiches and salads. The restaurant gets high praise for their vegetarian options such as their cheesesteak and a “turkey” sandwich.

Specialty sandwiches include The Bobbie, which is their best seller made with fresh roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayonnaise. One of our favorites includes the SlawBeJoe made with homemade roast beef, provolone, Russian dressing, and Cole slaw.

Hours are Monday through Friday from 7am to 9pm, Saturday 8am to 9pm, and Sunday 8am to 7pm.

First Look: East Hampton Sandwich Company

by Steven Doyle

Last week we saw one of the first of what will be a busy and exciting restaurant opening season. East  Hampton Sandwich Company opened its doors to a busier than normal crowd for a sandwich shop, but this is no ordinary sandwich shop, and certainly do not make ordinary sandwiches. We met with the dynamic Hunter Pond prior to the opening of his restaurant.

Before the opening Pond was a bit demure and obviously excited. Yesterday we went into the restaurant for the first time to taste what the young law grad had to offer, and he seemed to have morphed into this formidable host with a slight swagger and charm about him. He was still excited, and for a very good reason. It was 2pm in Snider Plaza and his restaurant was jumping. Each seat was filled with a happy guest.         Continue reading

East Hampton Sandwich Co Opens Wednesday

by Steven Doyle

There is a new sandwich shop opening up this week in Snider Plaza called the East Hampton Sandwich Company which is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Hunter Pond. This is Pond’s first foray into owning a restaurant, but he comes with some experience in the business. We sat with the 25 year old Pond to see what he has planned for the community of sandwich eaters. We broke the news of this restaurant some months ago, but have an interview with Pond today who explains what they have to offer.       Continue reading

Wicked Po Boy Opening This Week

by Crave Staff

Inspired by the distinct flavors of New Orleans cuisine, husband and wife team, Joey Le and Lan Chi Le will open their first fast-casual concept, Wicked Po’Boys, in Richardson this Wednesday, June 27th.

After moving to Dallas, Chi realized how much she missed the authentic, hole-in-the wall po’boys during her college studies in New Orleans. The couple began working on recipes and sketching ideas for a restaurant. They eventually hired Plan B Group (Royce Ring and Alex Urrunaga) to assist them in defining the concept and Gin Braverman of Gin Designs to consult on design.                  Continue reading
