Stoneleigh (le Meridein) Celebrates a Historic 100 Years

Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh was established in October of 1923 nestled on the corner of Maple Avenue and Wolf Street. One of the first, historic jewels in Dallas’s famed hotel crown embodies modern luxury with rich culture and European influences. Originally recognized as The Stoneleigh Court Apartment Hotel, it has made a lasting earnest impression on its guests. The beaux-art style building was originally designed by F.J. Woerner, which ignited high-rise luxury-style living in Dallas.

The unique Stoneleigh interior was perfectly originated by Dorothy Draper, the first female interior design firm owner in the United States. Her black and white floral wallpaper located on the 11th floor was turned upside down during installation, due to Draper’s artistic eye for design and forever created her legendary design trademark and made her iconic colorful prints famous worldwide.

As one of Napa’s oldest wineries with a legacy 130 years in the making, Freemark Abbey is the perfect partner with the 95-year-old Stoneleigh Hotel. Perle at Stoneleigh Opens With Great History

[erle1.jpg

When it opened in 1923 as The Stoneleigh Court Hotel, it was a first-of-its-kind building that marked a very intriguing time in the history of Dallas itself, foreshadowing a century of legendary stories, celebrity visits, and a tradition of elegance and luxury that would become the trademark of Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh. Today, 95 years later, every bit of Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh’s storied past is carefully considered and showcased through the renovation of this historical landmark by acclaimed Studio 11 Design. The result is a reimagined restaurant featuring inspired French cuisine, refreshed gathering spaces, and a restoration of the landmark 11th and 12th floors, fondly known as The Penthouse, all boasting Le Méridien’s distinct mid-century modern approach to design and ‘Destination Unlocked’ positioning. Stoneleigh Goes Luxe

by Jayne Chobot

Yesterday Dallas’ The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa joined CAM Hospitality Management, Luxe Hotels representatives and community leaders to celebrate the re-branding of the landmark property as Luxe Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa.

After the celebratory ribbon-cutting, the hotel’s lobby centerpiece Bolla Bar served beautiful complimentary cranberry and raspberry cocktails, and Executive Chef Cesar Gallegos and his team dished out small plates of Texas beef brisket and seared scallops with smoked cheddar grits to delighted guests of the event. Tours of the stunning and opulent suites with magnificent architecture and breathtaking views of downtown Dallas were provided on request. As an event planner and an on-the-hunt bride, I was really impressed with the offerings and style of this legendary landmark.   Continue reading
