Velvet Taco Opens at Legacy Hall

Velvet Taco, the edgy, Dallas-based, counter-service restaurant known for tacos inspired by unexpected flavors, is opening its 10th location at Legacy Hall later this spring. Legacy Hall is a European-style food hall with more than 20 restaurant partners located at 7800 Windrose Ave. in Legacy West, Plano’s popular mixed-use development.

Velvet Taco offers a thoughtfully created, chef-driven menu with scratch-made everything, including slow roasted marinated brisket, dry-rubbed pulled pork, tomato chutney prepared with fresh grilled vegetables, all sauces and more. Tacos+Tunes at Local Moto Sept 28th

What could be more delicious than Tacos and Tunes? How about both. Tacos and Tunes (T+T) is hosting its its September show at Local Moto + Provisions and will be feature local artists A.J. Legrand, Love & War and Cameron Matthew Ray. Tacos will be provided by El Taco Express.

T+T is a “house show” style concert series. The goal is to remove the barriers between artists and their audience. They provide a space where music lovers can genuinely connect with artists as well as local businesses and creatives who care about the city… all while stuffing their faces with delicious tacos from local taquerias.

Tacos and Tequila Tour April 14

I rarely ever talk about personal business on craveDFW but I want to share a little story that, to me, is a bit fun and involves history.

Eight years ago I had an idea that was born from my weekly habit of taking friends around Dallas for mini food tours. We would start about noon and bounce around town sampling various dishes that I thought were relevant that week. These were always fun and involved simple bites shared at maybe four or five hot spots around town. Continue reading

Tacodeli Opening In Plano Feb 22nd

We recently ran a look at  Tacodeli and have never been more pleased with a lunch in a very, very long time. They are looking to expand more in the Dallas area and now have a third location scheduled for Plano. The only downside to Tacodeli is they only do breakfast and lunch. However, this is one of the interesting aspects to the restaurant and something that makes it particularly good. The employees are snap happy and it shows.  Continue reading

Taqueria La Ventana Opening on Cedar Springs

Taqueria La Ventana – the popular fast-casual taqueria known for its authentic Mexico City street food – has just broken ground on its fifth Dallas location.

The new restaurant is set to open in early April at 3847 Cedar Springs Road. Guests of the taqueria will be transported to the bustling, vibrant streets of Mexico City through a culinary and cultural experience. Continue reading
