LORO Launches Lunch + Hot Honey Fried Chicken Specials

Hot Honey Fried Chicken w/ potato salad, yuzu and sweet pickles (Tues/Wed Only after 4pm)

The Hot Honey Fried Chicken special is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August and September. This delicious plate consists of a thai marinated chicken fried until crispy, drizzled with thai chili hot honey, and served with a yuzu kosho potato salad. It’s a LORO spin on the classic summer backyard BBQ. The Hot Honey Fried Chicken costs $17.50 and is available for dine-in, to-go and delivery.

LORO Addison Hosting Aaron Franklin BBQ + Book Signing Event June 10 from 2-5pm

LORO Asian Smokehouse & Bar will be hosting an exclusive BBQ and book signing event to celebrate the launch of Chef Aaron Franklin’s third book, “Franklin Smoke”, next month. On June 10 from 2-5pm, Franklin will be celebrating at LORO Addison with complimentary book signing and smoked Pulled Pork and Chopped Brisket Sliders for purchase. The first 50 guests will also receive a free signed copy of the book.

What’s New at LORO: Addison $5 Rice Bowl Special + LORO x Eataly Collab Dinner

We’re fans of LORO, the Asian smokehouse and bar conceptualized by Chef Tyson Cole and award-winning Chef Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue. As you may know, LORO just opened its second Dallas location in Addison in December 2022. To celebrate the grand opening, they will be offering $5 rice bowls every Monday throughout the month of January. The bowls are made with coconut rice, seasonal pickles, Thai herbs and a choice of meat including the Malaysian Curry Chicken, Smoked Prime Bavette or Char Siew Pork-Belly.

Loro Projected to Open July 5th

Hai Hospitality announced today that Loro, the Asian Smokehouse and Bar, will open its second location, at 1812 N Haskell (corner of Haskell and Munger) in old East Dallas, to the public on Thursday, July 5, 2021.  Loro, a culinary partnership between Pitmaster Aaron Franklin and Chef Tyson Cole, is part of Hai Hospitality, the restaurant group that counts Uchi and Uchiko in Austin; Uchi in Houston; Uchi and Uchibā in Dallas; Uchi in Denver; and Uchi Miami among its concepts.  Loro is Aaron Franklin’s first restaurant venture outside of his acclaimed, award-winning Franklin Barbecue in Austin.

Like the original Loro, which opened in Austin in April 2018, Loro Dallas will feature a variety of dishes created by James Beard Foundation Award-winners Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin that balance Southeast Asian flavors with the rich texture of traditional Texas BBQ.

Uchi Expanding to Denver

Hai Hospitality, the restaurant group based in Austin, Texas, announced today the location of its seventh restaurant in Denver, CO. Owner and Executive Chef Tyson Cole’s Uchi Denver, located at 2501 Lawrence Street, will mark the first time the group has opened a restaurant outside of Texas.  Hai Hospitality’s current restaurants include Uchi Austin, Uchi Dallas, Uchi Houston, Uchiko, Top Knot; and Loro, which will open later this year in Austin.   Continue reading
