Win Dinner For Two At Ryan Barnett’s Latest Pop-Up

by Steven Doyle

Chef Ryan Barnett hosts a Vegan Pop-Up dinner Friday, August 24 at My Private Chef in Deep Ellum.  The final dinner in a series of four, themed Sea, Air, Land and Earth, the 4 course menu will include Chilled Melon Soup, Texas Pea Cassoulet, Paquet of Courgettes (trio of squashes with handmade pasta) and Financier with summer fruits.  Guests are encouraged to BYOB (cork service provided).

Ingredients will be sourced both from Ryan’s personal garden as well as from local Texas farmers.

A Dallas native, Ryan is a classically trained chef whose passion and focus is the French Culinary technique.  His career began at L & M Kitchen & Salumeria in Oxford, MS. With its strong focus on farm to table cooking, its traditional in-house meat curing operation, and a daily Chef’s Tasting, Ryan was constantly challenged and exposed to new things. Most recently Ryan honed his skills in Dallas at Neighborhood Services, Bistro 31and Ormsby Catering.

Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7:00 p.m. Cost is $45 per person, exclusive of gratuity.  For reservations email or call 214-707-6986.  My Private Chef is located at 2901 Elm Street, self-parking available.

We encourage you to grab one of the very limited seats that are still available, but also wish to offer two for a lucky craveDFW reader. Drop a comment below on why you might enjoy this dinner with Chef Barnett and we will announce the winners tomorrow. Winner chosen at random and you should have your friends enter to win to increase your chances. Good luck and enjoy!

  1. It would be a treat and privilege to enjoy food grown locally and by Chef Ryan. The menu sounds divine and made my stomach growl. Plus, I have never had a true vegan meal so it would be a fantastic first for me.

I would love to attend this dinner if I win – Vegan and Vegetarian is creeping into many dinner parties and social events – and I would love to experience how this dinner will be executed. One of my employees is Vegan – and one of the best dinners I have ever seen executed was one that was cooked for him at Steak House – and the Chef brought each of his courses out and explained what it was. It was spectacular and I was very jealous.

Wow all the other comments really touched me. I’m a Vegan and I’d love for all of them to win so that they can see for themselves how delicious and satisfying a “kind” meal can be. But…my husband is taking my boys out for the night and I have a free pass so I’d really like to attend too. Maybe I could be the winners date???? I’ll even bring the wine!
