Those who like it hot will flock to the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas (ICCLC) this weekend for ZestFest 2013. ZestFest is a three-day fiery food event cooking up spicy tastes of all kinds: dipping sauces, salsas, mustards, marinades, cheeses, drinks, desserts and more. To up the sizzle factor, ZestFest offers live entertainment, fun contests, and cooking demos by culinary aces like Chef Jon Bonnell and local legend Eddie Deen.
Wingstop’s Atomic Wing-Eating Contest returns to feed ZestFest’s competitive spicy enthusiasts on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. Contest includes several qualifying rounds of Atomic Wing-Eating – Wingstop’s hottest flavor on the menu made with habanero peppers. Registration for the Atomic Wing-Eating Contest begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. located at the Wingstop table, next to the main stage. Look for our very own Moose to be entered in this contest.
Sunday ZestFest attendees have the opportunity to sample, and also judge their favorite spicy foods in the People’s Preference Awards at 10 a.m. Winners are announced later that day.
ZestFest tickets are $13 each on Friday; $14 each on Saturday and Sunday; $37 each for three-day passes; and $100 each for three-day passes including the FFC dinner. Children 10 and under are free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Tickets are available for purchase at the ICCLC box office.
