White Rock Local Market kicks-off the season Saturday, March 2 at Lakeside Baptist Church on Garland Road with an extraordinary ‘Everything’ market day featuring local food trucks and live music from The Dave Burris Group. ‘Everything’ market days which include local farmers, growers and artisans as well as arts and crafts are reserved for the 1st and 2nd Saturdays of the month, while 3rd and 4th Saturdays are exclusively food driven.
Simply Dosa, Ruthie’s Rolling Truck, Rock ‘n Roll Tacos, Easy Slider, Bacon Lover’s Truck join more than forty local growers and artisans including JuHa Ranch, Alpha Omega Farms, Good Earth Organic Farm, Hollyberry Herb Farm, Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters, Cita’s Salsa, Grazed Beef Co-op, Fruth Farms Southwest and more. Also a treasure trove of arts and crafts, market revelers can shop for homemade soaps, candles, paintings as well as handmade clothing and furniture.
In its fifth year, the popular farmers market also operates on the second and fourth Saturdays at The Green Spot on North Buckner Boulevard. March 9th will showcase local chefs including Chef Brian Luscher of Post Oak Red Hots with on-site cooking demonstrations. Oak Cliff Bike Company joins the mix with Dutch- inspired bikes.
A vibrant celebration of community and neighborhood, WRLM strengthens the local food economy and creates awareness of the social, environmental, and health benefits of eating local foods. Artisans, farmers and ranchers are located within 150 miles. WRLM incubates and cultivates small businesses, several which have moved on to have storefronts.
White Rock Local Market is open from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. from March 2 – December 8. The first and third Saturdays of the month markets will be located at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9051 Garland Road. Markets on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays at the Green Spot are located at 702 North Buckner Boulevard.

How do you enlist one’s help when it comes to booking bands? My son is the lead singer for his rock and roll band (think Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons) and I’d like him to perform one of the Saturdays. Please email or call me, as I can send you his YouTube link. We live in Lake Highlands.
