Best Buddies Texas presents Dallas’ “Life is Sweet” , one of the city’s sweetest fundraising events you will ever encounter. Dallas area top local bakers and chefs will be paired with buddies, young adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, to create custom desserts and dishes.
Guests will be treated to samples of the dessert and dishes, and have an opportunity to vote for their favorites. To accompany the sweets and dishes, guests will also enjoy wine along with a selection of savory hors d’oeuvres.
The goal of the “Life is Sweet” event is to showcase the abilities and talents of our Best Buddies participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities paired up with one of the city’s top chefs. It’s a playful nod to current television cooking shows, such as Cupcake Wars, Top Chef and Celebrity Cook-Off, providing an exciting an important opportunity for one-to-one social interaction between the buddies and bakers. The event will give our community a chance to see and sample delicious creations made by our chefs and participants.
