Remember Pizzeria Uno that served Chicago-style pizza that was on Greenville Avenue so many years ago? There was another location in Addison, and one still in Fort Worth. The same pizza mavens are coming back to the area with Uno Due Go. Open all day, look for a line-up of hot breakfast fare, deep dish pizza, gluten-free pizza, hot panini, flatbreads, bakery items, chopped salads, wraps, pasta, a full bar, and will feature a full dine-in as well as take out.
There will be two locations in Plano at Park and Preston first, followed shortly thereafter by a location at Preston Creek Shopping Center (Preston and Hwy. 121). There is already a location in Terminal E at DFW Airport.
Look for the first Plano location to open August 1, 2013.
I’ve eaten at the one in Ft. Worth a couple of times in the past couple of years, and it’s nowhere near what it used to be. The pizzas are still good (though they’ll readily say the crusts are frozen, not fresh) but the service was not good and the appetizers were like something out of the freezer section at Sam’s with very mealy breading and a warmed over taste. The second visit wasn’t much better except we knew to avoid the appetizers. It’s a shame, because growing up in Arlington eating at the former location there or the downtown Ft. Worth were a real treat.
