Cooking Class at The Mercury Benefits GALT

greyhoundby Steven Doyle

You will want to check out the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas’(GALT) annual event at The Mercury Saturday, October 19 when Chef Chris Ward hosts an afternoon cooking demonstration. The demo includes a cocktail, tastings and a cool swag bag. You will also have an opportunity to bid in a silent auction for art, spa and restaurant gift certificates, dog services, custom jewelry and much more.

GALT is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit all-volunteer group dedicated to placing all greyhounds, primarily those that competed and trained for racing, and sighthounds into loving homes.  GALT facilitates the adoption of greyhounds by providing kennel services and foster homes along with their medical needs, including spay and neuter, assisting them in the transition from track-life to home-life, and educating the public about why the greyhound has been a favored companion dog for more than 4,000 years.

Cost for this fun event is $60 for per person.  Coveted VIP seats (only nine available) get a front row seat at Chef Ward’s cooking bar and are $100. Purchase tickets online or call 972-503-GALT.

  1. Having had more than a few delicious meals at The Mercury over the years, I can attest that $60 is a steal for this class and fundraiser combined.
