I stopped by Trinity Groves last evening for a light bite and checked into Souk to find that Najat Kanaache, aka the “Pilgrim Chef” is no longer the executive chef. In her place now is long time Baboush chef Abraham Castillo. If you attended Fork Fight you no doubt met the Castillo.
As for Kanaache, no word as why she left or where she is headed next. I had a conversation with her a few months back and she explained before taking the position at Souk she was ever so close to moving to New York. I have a call into Souk owner, Yaser Khalaf and should be able to update this very soon with more details.
