Tiki Tour and USBG Tiki Week Announced June 24 – 30th

June 24 through 30 Dallas will celebrate Tiki Week. This year more bars and restaurants are participating, and it all kicks off with the fun cocktail at Sandbar Cantina. Se have listed the calendar below (sans a private event for U.S. Bartending Guild members). If you care to be a member, and membership definitely has its privileges all year long, checkout the USBG website.

Note that this year craveDFW is participating in a big way. We are operating the Tiki Tour through out Dallas that includes stops at Bolsa, Driftwood, Sunset Lounge, HG Sply, Libertine and Bind Butcher. We will be boarding a luxury bus, enjoying cocktails along the route (with even more cocktails along the way with our on board bartender). Food will be provided, along with a very jammed packed gift bag and a special Tiki Week lanyard to take home.

Seating for the tour is extremely limited and you may only purchase tickets for this event by emailing Steven Doyle at steven@cravedfw.com. No seats may be purchased at the time of the event. Cost is $65 and is all inclusive, plus we can arrange for a ride home for those without designated drivers. Tickets are on sale now, and most likely will not last more than a few days. This event starts at 3:30pm and goes on into the evening of Saturday the 28th.

Tuesday June 24^th

USBG Texas Tiki Week Kick-Off Party at Sandbar Cantina and Bar on 2^nd Ave.

Sponsored by North Texas USBG, Brugal Rum and Treaty Oak Distilleries.  Come join us for sand volleyball, Tiki cocktails, Tiki Buffet,  DJ spinning vinyl classics. Admission is free for USBG members and 1 guest. Drink specials and free food will be available! Come help us kick off a great week.

Wednesday June 25^th

Time Noon – 4pm

“Hooky-lau” Party at the Pool with the Bacardi Beach Blender Contest

Where: Sisu Uptown on Routh St.

Come join us as we have the Pool and Cabanas all to ourselves for a daytime fun in the sun at one of the coolest pool spots in Dallas.  Sponsored by Bacardi… come ready to show off your Blender skills and create your best Bacardi Blender cocktail. Winner gets a free trip to Tales of the Cocktails 2014.  Drink Specials, Food Trucks, music, sun, pool, games, and well, RUM. Free for USBG Members and guest. $20 for admission.

Thursday June 26^th

Time 11am

It is a World Cup watching party brought to you by The Standard Pour! Come watch USA vs Germany on their new projection screen! Sponsored by Pisco Porton, Veev Acai, and Leblon Cachaca. Drink Specials and Food specials during the game. Come experience the “spirits” of South America with a World Cup Cocktail Menu featuring its finest Brands! GO USA!!! GO TIKI!!!

Time 5pm til ???

Meet at Barter for the start of the UPTOWN TIKI TOUR. Each bar along the path will have featured Tiki cocktails. From Barter we head to Bowen House, The Standard Pour, Nickel & Rye and then finish with a TIKI THURSDAY TIPPLER at Tate’s @ 9pm.  Sponsored by Ron Diplomatico, Treaty Oak, Pisco Porton, and Brugal Rum.

Friday June 27^th

Time 2pm – 4pm

Don the Beachcomber is a legend in the cocktail world. Come learn from one of the other legend, Rocco Milano and staff will be teaching us how to make Tiki syrups with classic recipes like Beachcomber Syrup and Falernum.  This will be an interactive educational  seminar sponsored by High West and the one and only Chris Furtado.  Open to all.

Time 5:30 – 7:30

It is time to Pre-game with a Friday night happy hour at Peoples Last Stand! Island inspired Tiki cocktails and scorpion bowls shall keep us primed up and ready for the weekend at this watering hole.  Its always a great time during Tiki Week when we imbibe on island concoctions here! Open to all! Sponsored by Sugar Island Rum.

Time 8pm – midnite

It is a classic night of Tiki variety with the incomparable Micheal Martensen and staff and the brand new KNIFE!.Located at the Hotel Palomar on Mockingbird ln.  Join us for a party of cocktails, food, classic movies on screen, tunes and all of your friends.  This is the spot to be Friday night for a truly classic experience in one of the most modern new lounges in Dallas.  Sponsored by the 86 Company and Omar Yeefoon and Jason Kosmas.

Saturday 11:30 til 1:30

For those looking for a Brunch cure, Join us at the bar at The Standard Pour for a drinkers brunch. Tiki inspired cocktail that will be dressed with all the fixins you need to jump start your morning. Have one or two… this will be at the bar only.

Saturday Bus Tour

Where: Trader Joe’s Parking lot on Greenville 3:30 – 9pm

Okay its time for the TIki Tour Bus! Bus will leave at 3:45 and depart for the Bishop Arts. All the while on the bus you will be enjoying some fabulous cocktails all sponsored by Sailor Jerry and Hendricks Gin.  You will be whisked away for a brief vacation with Tiki cocktails and bites at Bolsa with Kyle Hilla. From here you will head to Driftwood where the staff will continue your island hop with some more fabulous creations.  From here we will head to Sunset Lounge for a brief stop for some Mai Tai’s and then it is on to HG Supply for a “Sunset Toast” on the Rooftop Lounge. Then our group heads to the Libertine and Blind Butcher to close out the evening. Please be responsible and take an UBER home. Promo code will be available on North Texas USBG Facebook.

Sunday June 29^th

Time 11:30am – 2pm

It is a Cowboy Brunch sponsored by High West and Brugal Rum.  Drink Specials will be had along with all the fixins of a proper Cowboy Tiki brunch!. Located at Barter on McKinney Ave.

Time 6:30 – Midnite

USBG Luau and Fundraiser at The Standard Pour.  This is the Sunday of  Sundays with a  roasted whole hog, The Freeloaders, Silent Auction, and of course TIKI COCKTAILS. All the best bartenders in the city whipping up your greatest Tiki drinks you’ve ever seen! Bamboo straws and coconut cups, leys and hula skirts. Don your flowered shirts, throw some sandals on, and come enjoy what is sure to be one hell of a closing Texas Tiki Week party. Sponsored by Ron Zacapa and Rhum Clement.  Admission is $20 (free for current USBG members)

MONDAY THE 30^th
