On the heels of the successful kickoff of Sunday Cinema Series, Knife at The Highland Dallas, located at 5300 E. Mockingbird Lane, will host the second edition on Sunday, June 28 from 8-11 p.m. with a screening of “Big Night” on the restaurant’s outdoor patio.
Tickets to “Big Night” include dishes inspired by the film from renowned Chef John Tesar and craft beer from Four Corners Brewing Company along with wine to enjoy before and during the screening.
Chef Primo (Tony Shalhoub) and businessman Secondo (Stanley Tucci) are immigrant brothers from Italy who open their dream restaurant, Paradise, in New Jersey. However, Primo’s authentic food is too unfamiliar for the local tastes, and the restaurant is struggling. When famous Italian-American bandleader Louis Prima is scheduled to appear at Paradise, the two brothers put all of their efforts into the important meal, which will likely decide the fate of their restaurant.
Tesar and Lee Papert, president & C.E.O. of the Dallas Film Society and executive director of the Dallas International Film Festival, will speak prior to the film about its impact on the culinary and restaurant industries.
Other movies scheduled in the series include “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” on Sept. 20, “Julie and Julia” on Oct. 25 and “Sideways” on Nov. 15. Tickets are priced at $35 per person and are inclusive of gratuity with $10 of each ticket sold benefitting the Dallas Film Society in support of bringing film, filmmakers and film education to the Dallas area.
