Mark your calendars for October 11th when the Truck Yard plans on hosting a Celebrity Chef Chili Cook-Off featuring some of the best culinary talent our city has to offer.
The outdoor event will see the rotating array of food trucks replaced by chef-manned tables, and it’s every attendee’s job to visit each table for a taste because the hungry masses will be responsible for choosing the winner. Just $25 gets you unlimited chili samples to ensure everyone can diligently fulfill their obligations. And everyone will also receive a cup for beer, which is an important addition to anything chili-related.
Participating chefs include:
- Jon Stevens (Stock & Barrel)
- Danyele McPherson (Remedy, HG Sply Co.)
- Nathan Tate (Rapscallion, Boulevardier)
- Graham Dodds (Formerly Hibiscus)
- Randall Warder (Clark Food & Wine Co., C’Viche)
Aside from being a general good time, this event is also for a good cause as a portion of the proceeds will benefit Angie’s Friends, a local non-profit animal welfare organization that’s dedicated to helping neglected and abused dogs.
Tickets will be available at the door, so plan on October 11th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and be sure to eat a light breakfast.
The Truck Yard is located at 5624 Sears St just off the Lower Greenville strip. For more information, call at 469-500-0139 or visit the website.
