Scardello Artisan Cheese will officially open its doors in the Dallas Farmers Market’s The Market, on January 8, 2016. Cheesemonger Rich Rogers, alongside Cheese Enthusiast and Manager Austin Dupree, have secured a prime 400- square-foot, end-cap space inside the Market, a premier space for slinging cheese.
“We are thrilled about the official opening of our Dallas Farmers Market location. While we have always had a great mix of domestic and international cheeses at Oak Lawn, we are excited to focus more intensely on US and Texas producers at The Market. We look forward to working in a new and collaborative environment with some other great purveyors and producers,” said Rich Rogers, proprietor and cheesemonger at Scardello Artisan Cheese.
The shop will feature a brick façade with elements of salvaged wood, white subway tiles and butcher block. Additionally, a bar will feature local beers and domestic wine on tap. Patrons are invited to sit at the bar and enjoy a beverage of their choosing, while munching on cheese plates, charcuterie, salads or sandwiches to-go.
“Having worked at Scardello Oak Lawn in its early days, I’m thrilled to come back to help open and shape our new location. We will continue to strive to support small traditional producers, focus on real food and celebrate delicious cheese,” added Austin Dupree, manager of Scardello Farmers Market.
Formerly known as Shed No. 2, The Market at Dallas Farmers Market consists of 26,000 square feet with four anchor restaurants, a mixture of local specialty foods and artisanal food vendors, as well as indoor and outdoor seating with a spectacular view of the Dallas skyline.
