Norma’s Celebrate Grilled Cheese Day with Free Grilled Cheese!

Dallas home-style cooking institution Norma’s Cafe is offering the ultimate freebie for National Grilled Cheese Day on Monday, April 12. All day long, dine-in guests at any of the five Norma’s Cafe locations in Oak Cliff, Dallas, North Dallas, Plano, and Frisco can receive a free grilled cheese sandwich, no purchase necessary.

Norma’s Cafe Grilled Cheese is an American classic, made with 2 slices of melted American cheese on Texas Toast and grilled to perfection, served with a pickle spear on the side.

Guests who want to be a bit more adventurous can try the exclusive grilled cheese sandwich created by David Matheny, who is the 2021 winner of the annual Norma’s Cafe Build Your Own Grilled Cheese Challenge. David’s recipe won the most votes among a field of dozens of contestants, and he will receive free grilled cheese sandwiches for a year. The Roast Malone includes Texas Toast, Monterey Jack and Swiss Cheese, Pot Roast, French Fries, Jalapenos and is topped with Mushroom Gravy and will be available on the menu at all five Norma’s Cafe locations for $9.99 for a limited time only.

“The Build Your Own Grilled Cheese Challenge has been a tradition of ours for 12 years now and each year we look forward to seeing how we can make this bigger and better than the previous year,” said Ed Murph, owner of Norma’s Cafe. “We are always impressed at the quality of the entries we receive, and it was a stiff competition with lots of great entries. We think our guests will really enjoy trying the Roast Malone.”
