Restaurant Recovery Saves Dallas BBQ Biz

Raising Cane’s Founder and CEO Todd Graves new Discovery+ series, Restaurant Recovery will begin airing on Cooking Channel tonight at 7:30 p.m. CST. Tonight on Restaurant Recovery, Todd visits Dallas’ own Smokey John’s, a restaurant owned and operated by two brothers carrying on their father’s legacy, including keeping all of their 22 employees afloat even when they can barely pay the bills.

Started by “Smokey” John Reaves, the restaurant grew into a beloved African American community gathering spot where BB King played for ribs and Dallas Cowboys players frequented. Now the two brothers, Brent and Juan Reaves, are tasked with running the restaurant their father built from the ground up because of his love for backyard BBQ. 

As founder and CEO of the popular restaurant chain Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Todd brings his deep industry knowledge and undeniable passion for helping the community to Restaurant Recovery. In each episode, Todd and his team work directly with local restaurateurs that are struggling to hang on, by providing creative ideas, hands-on renovations and financial support.

Investing more than $100,000 per restaurant and $1 million overall, Graves helps to bring the restaurants back to their former glory.
