F&B News from Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk

The Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk signature restaurant Landrace is hosting its second dinner of the Landrace Dinner Series featuring the Duckhorn Portfolio this Thursday, September 16. The incredible menu can be found here – highlights include Papalo Cured Gulf Tuna, Seared Duck Breast, Texas Wild Boar two ways, and more, all featuring a variety of wines from Napa Valley’s Duckhorn Vineyards. Additionally, Chef Robert Cantu of The Moon’s Daughters, Thompson San Antonio’s rooftop restaurant, has been invited to join the Homegrown Chef’s Burger Showdown Competition on Saturday, October 9. The community fundraising event, in its second year, will feature some of the best chefs from San Antonio to compete. Funds will go towards providing fresh fruit and vegetables to industry folks and San Antonio families in need of support through the Big Fresh Market Box program of the Big State Produce Co. industry. Additional details can be found below.

·       Where: Outdoors at Brooster’s Backyard Icehouse, 815 Pleasanton Road.

·       What: Guests will enjoy a one-night-only burger feast and can cast their vote for their favorite burger, while helping raise funds for industry folks and San Antonio families in need of support.

On a similar note, Thompson San Antonio recently appointed two acclaimed hospitality experts to lead F&B operations. New Director of Food and Beverage Carlos Batista is a hospitality professional with over two decades of experience encompassing roles with Starwood resorts, Wynn Resort Casino, Las Vegas and the Shore Club Hotel in South Beach Miami.

Additionally, Director of Bars & Beverage Tanner Johnson brings over a decade of mixology and food and beverage hospitality expertise to his new role, having worked with Kimpton Shorebreak Resort in Huntington Beach, California.
