The Worthington Hotel, in conjunction with Rooftop Cinema Club, invites you to an exciting Pride-themed Sip & Shop Series on June 15th. Taking place on the breathtaking rooftop of The Worthington Hotel, this event promises an evening of shopping, happy hour delights, and a special film screening that celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community.
The Sip & Shop series occurs every third Thursday, featuring a different theme each month. Following the successful debut last month with a “Made in Texas” theme, this Pride edition is only the second event in the series, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy an inclusive and festive atmosphere.
Come to the rooftop from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for an unforgettable experience. Admission to the Shop & Sip Series is free, providing an excellent opportunity to explore a curated selection of vendors. The Worthington is proud to showcase LGBTQIA+ owned businesses and allies that support the community.
Sully + Proper Supply, an LGBTQIA+ owned business, will be featuring a variety of leather goods, including wallets, bags, and note sleeves. Spice Bae, another LGBTQIA+ owned business, offers a delectable assortment of rubs and spices, including their special PrideBae spice, adorned with vibrant rainbow colors. Additionally, we have Ab Lino, a dedicated ally, who specializes in custom hat-making with cowboy-style hats that can be personalized with unique messages, initials, feathers, silks, and more.
While shopping, indulge in happy hour sips and bites from the SIP & CHOW stations, offering HALF OFF beers and cocktails, as well as a discounted pork taco for just $7. It’s the perfect way to unwind and socialize before the main event.
At 7:30 PM, the Sip & Shop series seamlessly transitions into a paid showing at Rooftop Cinema Club, featuring the timeless LGBTQIA+ film, The Birdcage. Directed by Mike Nichols, this iconic adaptation from a ’70s French play broke ground with its humor and celebration of queer joy. The Birdcage remains a beloved staple in LGBTQIA+ cinema canon, making it a must-see for all film enthusiasts. Prepare to revel in the film’s charm and captivating performances while enjoying the stunning rooftop ambiance.
