Lockwood Distilling Co., the neighborhood distillery + eatery where everyone finds fun, food, and friends, is excited to spread the love around Dallas-Fort Worth with a third location in McKinney. The community-driven distillery and craft kitchen, owned by Evan and Sally Batt, is slated to open in Downtown McKinney at 1205 W. Louisiana Street, in February 2024.
The new drinks and eats outpost on the square in McKinney shares the trademark Lockwood look with a black and white industrial aesthetic, natural woods, dark metals, and a patio perfect for laughin’, sippin’, and tappin’ to live music. Based on the idea “WE’RE ALL JUST ONE BIG FAMILY NOW,” custom artwork throughout the almost 3,000 sq. ft. space includes familiar faces like Biggie Smalls and Dolly Parton as well as cool Lockwood swag – just a little part of the charm, personality and heart that make up Lockwood Distilling Co. And friends of Lockwood can always count on an innovative calendar of pop-up fun that keeps the calendar packed throughout the year.
The specially curated menu features rotating noshable eats like Poblano Pimento Cheese, Dirty South Tots, and Lockwood’s legendary Pastrami Sandwich that pair perfectly with their ever-changing offering of specialty seasonal cocktails featuring Lockwood’s spirits. For those searching for a great place to work with great people in a great environment, applications for the waitstaff and bar team are still in the works, so interested folks are invited to apply by emailing info@lockwooddistilling.com.
Both North Texas locals, husband and wife duo Evan and Sally Batt are known for bringing people together, personally and professionally. His love for distilling, with her passion for connections, and their love for food, was the perfect recipe for Lockwood Distilling Co. An experienced leading expert in the distilling industry, Evan dreamed of a place where he could unite together his favorites in a way that his wife, friends, and neighbors could celebrate the big moments and everyday triumphs in their own community of Richardson.
However shortly after making the dream a reality, only a few months after opening the doors in Richardson, the pandemic hit. With immediate action to begin hand-sanitizer production for front-line and healthcare workers, transitioning wait staff to bottlers and warehouse workers, and an outpouring from neighbors to set up their own “socially-distanced patio” in the parking lot, not only kept their doors open but allowed the concept to expand exponentially. Fast forward just a few months later, Lockwood expanded to a 4,000 sq. ft. production and storage warehouse, Lockwood Distilling Co. Fort Worth, and bottles of their Hibiscus Vodka, Single Barrel Straight Bourbon, and everyone’s favorite, Bourbon Cream Liqueur at bottle stores across Texas including Total Wine & More, Spec’s, Goody Goody and online at their own website.
“We are thrilled to bring our taste of community, creative cuisine, and craft spirits to Downtown McKinney,” said Evan Batt. “While McKinney continues to grow, we love its small-town feel and feel everyone who comes through our doors will be right at home with Lockwood Distilling Co.”
