Andretti Indoor Karting and Games, Grand Prairie, Texas

by Chef Annie Greenslade

Andretti Indoor Karting and Games opened a new location in Grand Prairie, Texas. This high-end luxury entertainment enterprise boasts 92,000 square feet of visual amazement and non- stop fun. The perfect date spot to wow any partner, the perfect family getaway, and the perfect place to escape reality solo, it is sure to impress in every scenario.

As you enter, you are instantly greeted by luxury lighting, high energy vibes, a gorgeous full bar staffed with friendly and well-trained bartenders, and cars hanging from the ceiling. Walk on marble tile gilded in gold, all while the eye-candy never stops with Vegas-style lights and blingy arcade games.

The laser tag is definitely one of the most top-notch in Texas, with glowing black light obstacles and the most realistic battle between opposing teams. Even a soldier would be impressed with this adrenaline inducing tag game, where you can actually see the lasers shoot across the room. Walk across to the indoor go-karts with powerful electric engines and sleek paint jobs to make your head whirl as you race incredibly fast around the indoor, temperature-controlled track, competing for first place.

The cleverest aspect is the lush booths with lit tabletops, so parents can sip the best cocktails made-from-scratch while their children play “duckpin” with miniature bowling pins and miniature bowling balls on lanes that are electronic display screens. The arcade games are cutting edge mixed with retro classics. Players accumulate tickets to redeem at the prize booth with a huge selection of toys, candy, and souvenirs to remember the experience for a lifetime.

The one-of-a-kind, better than any theme park, “7D Experience” is unlike any ride or video game anyone has experienced. Walk into a private room (Hyperdeck or Hologate) filled with roller coaster seats, buckle in, put on your 3D glasses, pick up your gun, and watch the screen as you move back and forth, up and down, rattle and roll with the thrilling 3D screen, all while your hair blows in the wind. Shoot zombies as they attack your car, truck, feet, and fall off cliffs with them, only to be greeted by more zombies.

Meanwhile, the game keeps score, showing photos of all the players caught in action during the ride, ranking them from number 1 to 14. Do not fret if zombies are not your forte. Ride again and again for different experiences, choosing from werewolves, clowns, or child-friendly robot toys (no shooting required).

The best part of Andretti is their real chefs that make from-scratch food that is sure to please even the most discerning palate. Filet, seafood ceviche, brick oven pizzas, salads, burgers, pastries, barbacoa tacos, and even flambéed donuts (with your choice of liqueur) with flames shooting up to the ceiling are just a few of the mouth-watering options. Waitstaff take care of your every need, no matter where you are located in the huge space, so feel free to wander with food and drinks at your leisure.

DFW is fortunate to have this level of mind-blowing luxury entertainment. Grandissimo, Andretti!
