Dallas Theater Center to Present “Waitress” March 29-April 20 at the Wyly Theatre

Dallas Theater Center presents the hit musical Waitress, with music by Grammy Award-winning Sara Bareilles, from Thursday, March 29, to Sunday, April 20, at the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre in the Dallas Arts District (2400 Flora St, Dallas, TX 75201). This production is made possible by season sponsor Texas Instruments and production sponsor Unisys Systems.

Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a talented waitress and pie maker, who feels stuck in her small town and loveless marriage. When she unexpectedly becomes pregnant, Jenna worries her dream of opening her own pie shop will never come true. But a nearby pie contest and the arrival of a charming new doctor offer her a chance at happiness. With a score by Sara Bareilles, the musical celebrates friendship, motherhood, and the joy of a well-baked pie.

Waitress is the perfect musical for spring,” said Kevin Moriarty, executive director of Dallas Theater Center. “Sara Bareilles’ wonderful score blends perfectly with a hopeful story about love, strength, and motherhood. We’re excited to bring this heartwarming production to North Texas audiences.”

Based on the book by Jessie Nelson and the movie by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress is directed by Ashley Wells, with choreography by Amy Reynolds-Reed and music direction by Vonda K. Bowling. The talented North Texas cast includes Tiffany Solano as Jenna, Brian Gonzales as Cal, Ayanna Edwards as Becky, Christina Austin Lopez as Dawn, Ian Ferguson as Earl, and many more.

The show runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission, and is recommended for ages 13 and up due to mature themes and adult language.

Tickets start at $35 and are available now through Dallas Theater Center. For more information, showtimes, and to purchase tickets, visit dallastheatercenter.org.
