Dallas shoppers can finally exhale: the long-awaited first H-E-B inside the Dallas city limits is officially happening. No more committing to a half-day pilgrimage to Plano or Frisco, and no more “quick stop” at Central Market that somehow turns into an overflowing cart because the bakery case was too persuasive.
The new store does come with a twist, though. It’s not landing in the center of the city but rather in Far North Dallas, at Hillcrest and LBJ — the stretch of 635 between U.S. 75 and the Dallas North Tollway.
H-E-B hasn’t shared much beyond the basics just yet. The company closed on a 10-acre site and will now begin working with neighbors and city officials on rezoning and planning. There’s no timeline for opening, but based on how these things usually go, a 2026 debut feels like a reasonable expectation.
