Festival organizers at The Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate today announced the official 2026 BBQ Pitmasters lineup for the Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival, returning Saturday, April 18, 2026, to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards for its milestone 5th anniversary. Tickets are on sale now at SyndicateSmokedown.com.
A centerpiece of the fan festival experience, BBQ Time returns as the festival’s signature daytime programming – giving fans the chance to eat their way through complimentary BBQ samplings from 20+ of Texas’ best barbecue joints, served fresh off the pit between Noon and 4:00 p.m. Open to BBQ Time, VIP, and Platinum ticket-holders, this early afternoon experience kicks off a full afternoon of music and Texas flavor before the spotlight shifts to the main stage music performances later in the evening.

This year’s BBQ Time lineup features Michelin Guide-recognized pitmasters, James Beard Award finalists, and Texas Monthly award-winning favorites alike, along with hometown Fort Worth smokehouses that helped create North Texas’ BBQ legacy, such as Panther City BBQ, Olmos BBQ, and Fort Worth BBQ (formerly Bailey’s Bar-B-Que).

Following last month’s announcement of the 2026 music lineup, today’s BBQ Time pitmaster reveal rounds out the festival-going experience for fans. After BBQ Time concludes at 4:00 p.m., festivalgoers will head to the US Energy Main Stage for music performances featuring nationally recognized artists and Texas favorites, including Whiskey Myers, Randy Rogers Band, and Amanda Shires, who will carry the celebration from pit smoke to prime-time sound.
Beyond the Music Festival and BBQ Time experience, the Syndicate Smokedown’s BBQ Competition will once again welcome more than 100 professional and amateur teams competing in a traditional, judges-only cook-off as part of an official International Barbeque Cookers Association (IBCA) State Championship–sanctioned contest happening that same day in the Stockyards. The $20,000+ prize purse represents one of the richest one-day BBQ competitions in the state.
5th Anniversary for Fort Worth BBQ Showdown
“For our 5th anniversary, we wanted BBQ Time to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the music lineup, meaning it has to be big, bold, and unmistakably Texas,” said Andy Eldridge, Syndicate Smokedown Festival Director and Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate Executive Committee member. “I am proud of this stellar group of pitmasters, who represent some of the best of North Texas’ BBQ scene today, from legacy Fort Worth names to those earning national recognition, all coming together in the Stockyards to support Texas youth in agriculture.”
Now entering its fifth year, the Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival has grown into one of North Texas’ most anticipated spring events, bringing together nationally recognized music artists, award-winning barbeque, and a mission-driven cause in one of the most iconic settings in the country – the Fort Worth Stockyards.
100% of Syndicate Smokedown net proceeds are contributed to the Jim Bob Norman Scholarship fund, which benefits Texas FFA and 4-H youth pursuing degrees at Texas universities. To-date, the scholarship fund has awarded more than 350 scholarships totaling over $3.5 million.
The Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival is produced by the volunteer-led Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate, a 501(c)3 organization, which since its 1980 founding in Fort Worth has raised and donated more than $100 million to Texas agricultural youth through its scholarship fund and the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Junior Sale of Champions.
Tickets for the 2026 Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival are on sale now at SyndicateSmokedown.com, with several ticket packages available. BBQ Time access is included in the festival’s BBQ Time, VIP, and Platinum ticket packages, each offering varying levels of access to the competition area, samplings, and premium amenities. Organizers encourage fans to secure tickets early, as previous editions of the festival have sold out in advance of show day.
