A new bowling alley/ restaurant opened in the Design District. Bowlounge is located at 167 Turtle Creek Blvd, giving you an additional reason to frequent that burgeoning side of Dallas. The new business has been in the works for quite some time now, but has finally come to fruition. The restaurant portion of the bowling alley is not complete, so it is just bowling and booze for now.
Unlike counterparts popping up in Dallas, Bowlounge is considered a ‘retro blue collar’ hangout. Continue reading

The Wine Poste is making a name for itself quickly in Dallas. The Design District wine outlet is now offering dinners hosted by chefs from around the city, and are still looking for more talent for future endeavors. On June 3, 2013 Omar Flores from Oak Cliff’s Driftwood will be throwing down a 5-course wine paired dinner starting at 7pm.
We have the menu listed below, and there are still a few seats remaining. The dinner is limited to 24 guests, so you will want to check out the website to secure your seats. Tickets are $125 each and include wines.

WinePoste.com, a Design District Internet wine seller and wine event space has teamed up with Scardello Cheese to do monthly wine and cheese tasting classes. It’s a powerful combination. One of best cheese merchants in town paired with a quality wine merchant (while WinePoste is brand new, its principals have over 30 man-years in the wine business). Just at the four month mark, this two year concept in the making hit Dallas Café lovers, with a new twist on a traditional love. Ascension Coffee is more than coffee.
We asked our Barista, and who would have known the owner was standing next to her, “what would you recommend, this is our first time?” With a popular vote from the best sales to the best ingredients I warmed my hands on the Chai Latte with Almond Milk and my sidekick entertained the Quartado. We were told the Almond Milk is soon to be made in house. They also carry moo moo milk as I call it, and soy. Both were to our liking, so after 30 minutes we ordered another round. Continue reading
