The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association kicks off summer with a sizzle with the return of the Sunday Supper Club Series. On June 14, Kent Rathbun, celebrity chef and creator of Abacus, Jasper’s and soon-to-open Hickory in Plano, is hosting a summer backyard barbecue at his Dallas home. Guests will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Chef Rathbun in his personal outdoor kitchen and backyard. All proceeds benefit Greater Dallas Restaurant Association. Heads or Tails? Greater Dallas Restaurant Association will host their Annual Heads or Tails Seafood Boil on February 23rd from 6 to 9pm at the Rustic in Dallas. Attendees will enjoy all-you-can-eat crawfish, shrimp, beer, music, raffle prizes and more! This intriguing event sells out every year, so make sure to register early. This Sunday on craveRADIO we will feature Jim White, founder of Savor Dallas the week-long food and wine festival in Dallas. Jim White is also the inspiration behind craveRADIO as he produced his own program, Restaurant Show on KRLD.
On the program White will discuss the state of restaurants in Dallas both past and present. A reminder for those that missed the write up, the event is hosted by the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association to raise money for more than thirty high schools in the area that teach TXProStart, a two year culinary and hospitality arts program for DISD students. The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association is reaching out with their coming event this weekend that will benefit local schools with culinary programs. Cocktails, wine, and beer with heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be provided by Wolfgang Puck Catering.
This event differs from so many of the walk around fundraisers where you taste each chef’s offerings. Instead you will mill about with the chefs and bid on their different auction packages. This is where the fun comes in as the chefs have prepared some fun packages that might be just a bit different than your usual silent auction bid.
