More Info On 2012 Chefs Of Summer Event

By Steven Doyle

Yesterday we implored you to grab your tickets for this Sunday’s event where you can bid on your favorite chef and a special package they have lined up for you.  Today we learn of a few more interesting packages that you might wish to bid on this Sunday, June 3, 2012.

A reminder for those that missed the write up, the event is hosted by the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association to raise money for more than thirty high schools in the area that teach TXProStart, a two year culinary and hospitality arts program for DISD students. The program generated over $80,000 in scholarships and is a wonderful local program.

So we have piqued your interest a bit, here are a few packages we learned about this morning and they look incredible.

Brian Luscher, Chef-owner of The Grape and The Grape Caters! is offering The “Nice-to-Meat-You” Package and  will come to your home to host a “Grilled Meats-capade” hands-on cooking class and backyard BBQ party for up to twenty guests.

Luscher’s press agent writes, “Steaks, chops, birds, fishes & sausages will be grilled, bbq’d and smoked to the delight of your friends. The whole while Chef Brian, along with his smoker “Ms. Verna,” will be making some aprons dirty as he talks meat and takes hands on an interactive journey through wood, smoke and coals. Sauces, condiments, sides and good times are also on the menu. Recipes and instruction available for those who care to jump in, and cool, refreshing drinks for those who don’t… heck, drinks for everyone!”

The lovely pastry chef Jill Bates will be bringing a night at the Ritz, with brunch for two at Fearings and two pedicures from the spa.

There will be plenty of chefs to choose from and their packages will most likely be outrageous.

This will be a fun and action packed evening you will not want to miss. the event takes place at Union Station from 6 to 9pm and will be catered by the people at Wolfgang Puck, offering cocktails and appetizers.
