Shodo, a Traditional Sushi Concept, is Now Open in the Design District

Shodo, a new traditional sushi concept from Route 62 Hospitality (PakPao and El Bolero) is now open in the Design District at 1628 Oak Lawn Ave #110, Dallas, TX 75207 (you may know this as Oak). 

The stunningly appointed restaurant is focused on traditional, pure Japanese sushi as well as unique interpretations of classic sushi. The word “Shodo” means the art of ancient Japanese calligraphy.

Route 62 Hospitality Founder, Richard Ellman says of the new concept, “We want to provide Dallas diners a classic sushi experience. We are offering exceptionally authentic sushi made with the highest quality ingredients.”

Sushi | Bar Hospitality to Open the Acclaimed Omakase-Style Sushi | Bar and Cocktail Lounge Ginger’s in East Quarter Downtown Dallas on December 1

Sushi | Bar Hospitality announces today, the expansion of Sushi | Bar, the distinguished 17-course omakase experience as well as their new concept, Ginger’s, a classic cocktail lounge, set to open in Downtown Dallas’ East Quarter development on December 1 at 2115 Jackson St, Dallas, TX 75201.  Reservations are available to book now for the month of December.

The popular-omakase style, speakeasy concept opened to great fanfare in Austin in 2020, and was named one of Miami’s hottest new restaurants upon opening in the Esmé Miami Beach Hotel in 2022.

Pearl to Open to the Public on September 14

Pearl, the new sushi restaurant led by Chef Shine Tamaoki, will open its doors to the public on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Located at 4640 McKinney Ave., Unit 130, Dallas, TX 75205, the restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout through a dedicated sushi window.

At Pearl, Chef Shine follows Japanese traditions with a tastefully progressive approach to sushi. All dishes focus on seasonality and Chef Shine has developed the menu in a way in which there should never be a repetition of dominant flavors in any dish.

The restaurant, simply named Akira Back, after the Michelin-starred chef himself, offers a robust menu of what Back calls “Japanese cuisine with a Korean twist.” Born in Korea and raised in Aspen, Colorado, Back has built an impressive resume, both inside and outside of the realm of culinary arts.
