Fort Worth native, Mayor Betsy Price has been attending the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot since its inception in 1981. Price believes in a community that naturally promotes physical activity throughout the day and the YMCA mission aligns in providing healthy living for all. For its annual holiday tradition, Norma’s Cafe, the original Dallas dining icon serving Texas home cooking for more than 60 years, will open its doors on Thursday, Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for its 29th Free Thanksgiving Dinner. The free meal will be available only at Norma’s Cafe’s original Oak Cliff location on 1123 W. Davis Street in Dallas.
“Our team cannot imagine Thanksgiving Day without sharing it with our community and being a part of a larger movement to spread holiday joy to those in need,” said Ed Murph, owner of Norma’s Cafe. “For the past 29 years, we’ve opened our cafe and provided a home-cooked meal to those who need it, but it would not be possible without our partners and volunteers who share our passion of helping others.” Continue reading
Before One90 Smoked Meats opened its East Dallas storefront in 2015, the small team of meat enthusiasts had been catering events and selling food at farmers markets. Back in August, Greenville Avenue Pizza Company launched brunch, and with it, their brunch calzones.
