Tiffany Derry’s Radici to Open May 1

T2D Concepts, the purpose-driven hospitality group led by chef Tiffany Derry and Tom Foley, has cooked up its latest concept, Radici Wood-Fired Grill. Radici, meaning “roots” in Italian, is set to begin limited service on Wednesday, May 1 in Farmers Branch. 

Radici draws inspiration from Derry’s early experiences in Italian restaurants, Foley’s maternal heritage, and both Derry’s and Foley’s travels through Italy. The menu changes based on seasonal availability and centers around meats and vegetables prepared in a wood-fired grill and a selection of fresh pastas made daily.

Chef Tiffany Warms Us Up To Her Southern Roots

Chef Tiffany Derry, a woman who is truly America’s sweetheart. It was her insistence to stand out from the Top Chef crowd of chefs on season seven where smarminess is generally a theme and backstabbing is de rigueur. That’s not how Tiffany plays it, her genuine personality coupled with the extraordinary ability to cook led this chef to the top of that season’s heap, which begat an amazing television career which includes another season of Top Chef (All Stars), a gig on Bar Rescue and numerous judging appearances for both Top Chef and Top Chef Jr.. If that is not enough, and is it ever really, she has her own PBS series being filmed as this is written.

Cat Cora Attends “A Fine Line” Screening with Independence Gardens

On a Saturday evening in Grapevine, TX, the realms of film and food collide at the premiere of A Fine Line at the Palace Arts Center. In attendance are several of Dallas’s top women chefs and restaurateurs, including Tiffany Derry (Roots Chicken Shak and  TV fame), Uno Immanivong (Red Stix), Casey Doody (Dallas Country Club), Jennifer Basjel (Getting Saucy), Yasmin Wages (Malai Kitchen), and Sara Bintrim (Aramark). Making a special guest appearance is celebrity chef Cat Cora, who is featured in the A Fine Line documentary.

Cora believes documentaries like A Fine Line will start a dialogue about how women in the kitchen can get to a place of equality in our nation’s current climate. Continue reading
