Chef Tre Wilcox invites you to enjoy an intimate culinary experience straight from his personal kitchen. The former Executive Chef and two-time alum of Bravo TV’s Top Chef, located in the downtown Dallas area, will be combining his passion for teaching with local celebrity chefs. The demo-cooking classes are for those interested in mastering all of the great techniques taught by some of the best local chefs in Dallas. There is no other Saturday lunch that can compare to this fabulous 4-course meal, prepared & served to you one on one.
Each class is from 12-3 pm on select Saturday dates. Chef Tre Wilcox and one guest chef will each prepare 2 courses to make a spectacular meal prepared for you right at the kitchen counter. It’s a great way to ask all of the questions you’ve wanted to know regarding how chefs interpret, create and execute foods that they are known for. Continue reading
Just weeks ago we learned that Marquee chef Tre Wilcox was leaving the restaurant he helped open, and the restaurant hired former Fairmont Hotel chef Andre Natera. Nataera started as chef at the beginning of February and has been doing a fantastic job as top toque, working with Tre’s menu for the time being and putting out some amazing specials that are being trialed for the new menu which should roll out very soon. Even bigger news is what will become of the second floor that the owners announced would be transitioned into a separate restaurant. There has been plenty of speculation. Continue reading
As we have reported Tre Wilcox will be leaving Village Marquee Grill to strike out on his own and teach classes and cater private affairs in Dallas and around the country. Friday, February 1, 2013 will be hosting his farwell evening at the restaurant and he has invited friends to stop in for dinner or drinks to bid him a fond adieu. Continue reading
The food lords of Dallas were taken aback recently when Tre Wilcox resigned his post two years after he opened the kitchen at Marquee in Highland Park Village. Wlicox comes to us with an amazing pedigree named as the James Beard Foundation’s “Rising Star Chef” for two consecutive years, and appearing on Top Chef Season 3 and the All Star Season 8. On any given night Wilcox could be found working the line in his own kitchen at Marquee rather than playing up his celebrity status.
We talked about the Food For Thought event last month, but we wanted to give you an update. We are always getting requests for event information, and the summertime is a slow period for food events. As we draw closer to Fall and Winter that will all change and we will be announcing all sorts of fun events.
The fourth annual Food for Thought event will be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Showcasing Dallas/Fort Worth’s finest chefs and cuisine, Food for Thought benefits Big Thought, one of Dallas’ leading nonprofits dedicated to improving public education through creative learning (and Big Thought happens to be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year). At the event, former DISD School Board Trustee Edwin Flores will be honored with the coveted Gavel of Excellence Award. Food For Thought is presented by Lockheed Martin in partnership with the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. Continue reading
