The Hotel Lumen located on Hillcrest is set to unveil the first piece of a multi-phased hotel expansion. The new three-story addition scheduled to open early 2012, will add 34 guest rooms, including one junior suite and two premium suites with a bar, living room, bedroom, floor-to-ceiling windows with automatic shades and exclusive access to the new rooftop terrace overlooking Southern Methodist University and the Park Cities.
A second phase of the expansion will enhance 54 existing guest rooms. The second phase of the expansion will also include the conversion of the existing lobby and Hillcrest-facing space into a classic diner-inspired restaurant by Tim McEneny and Doug Brown, currently of Dish.
The new restaurant and bar will serve three meals a day and feature a modern American menu and handcrafted cocktails. The space will feature indoor and patio seating for 75.
The name of the new restaurant has yet to be decided.
