Just when you thought it safe to put away your defibrillator, Kenny Bowers, that irreverent chef who runs Kenny’s Woodfire Grill and Kenny’s Burger Joint has come out with a massive piece of meat on a bun. No, we are not talking about the El Jefe Grande that weighs in at seven pounds stuffed with seven thousand calories. This is a gargantuan hot dog to rival Nolan Ryan’s two foot long dog at the Ballpark at Arlington.
The giant dog is actually made by Ryan’s meat company and weighs one pound and is twenty-four inches long. The all-natural, all-beef hot dogs are custom made by Nolan Ryan’s All Natural Beef. They are served on a custom twenty inch bun created locally by La Spiga.
While they’ll serve it any way you like – much as at all Kenny’s restaurants – the dog is served traditionally with mustard, relish and sautéed onions for $16.99 or as a massive chili cheese dog at $19.99.
Kenny was excited that his dogs were made by a quality company like Nolan Ryan’s, and found it ironic that Ryan’s company isn’t the creator of the massive dog served at the Ballpark in Arlington. We sent someone out to try the dog and will have a photo after they digest.
Update: We added the photos and thank our intrepid photographer.
