Just weeks ago we reported on one Dallas restaurateur taking to the campaign trail in a bid for US Senate. We are happy to report that John Jay Meyer has been slugging away as he makes his way to Washington. With this news comes yet another Dallas restaurant mogul wanting a place in political history, Joe Chow. Chow is running for US Congress in District 6. Chow has seven children with two that served in Iraq.
We saw Chow this weekend as he glad handed during the Taste Addison festival and asked him a few questions.
So US Congress? Who are you running against?
I am running for US Congress District 6 against Joe Barton, the most corrupt congressman. He is out there spending your money and my money.
How would you change Washington?
I am going to cut spending, balance the budget, lower taxes. And I want term limits.
So Joe you were mayor of Addison for two terms, but you also have a day job.
I am a restaurant owner. I have owned May Dragon restaurant for 26 years and I invented sesame chicken in 1987. I also invented lettuce wraps with shrimp. Most recently I invented a dish called ginger shrimp to compete in the Taste Addison contest.
Wow, I never knew you were so prolific. So back to the politics, what are your basic beliefs?
I stand by the constitution and right to bear arms. State’s rights. Controlled borders. Most important, freedom of the individual. I want to take my business background to Washington. Fight, fight, fight. It’s Chow time!

Joe Chow grossly abuses the public services in Addison still. He wastes a lot of taxpayer resources for personal use (Police departments) where if he were not ever the mayor he would be like the rest of us and wait our turn. Multiple occasions it has occurred at May Dragon. Also, that’s a pretty bold statement that he invented sesame chicken???????
