New Clubs And Bars Coming Near You

by Bryan Coonrod

Fall is coming soon and in Dallas that means the rise of new bars and nightclubs. This year might be the biggest spike in years. Here is the list so far.

My House Uptown – New venture from the folks from Glass Lounge. Will feature high end food and cocktails, Chef Stefon Rishel formally from Brackets will be executive chef. A unique twist is added as it will include a pool with a sandy beach to walk into it. Location is at Maple & Mckinney Ave.
Park Tavern – Located in the Shops at Park Lane this new place will feature signature cocktails and 40 Texas made craft beers as well as a full menu ranging from street tacos to large sandwiches.
Kung Fu Saloon – A transplant from Austin, this new place will be similar to Barcadia with vintage video games and skeeball and a wide array of special cocktails that fall in line with the gaming theme. You might find Steven Doyle in one of it’s 2 private karaoke rooms. It will be located at the former Place at Perry’s at Cedar Springs and Routh.
Union Park – Adding to the already busy Main St. comes this “gastropub” with a huge list of burgers and draft beers. This will be a high end sports bar that should do well downtown.
The Shark  – Heading north we land at Willowbend Mall for this new place. Once again another high end sports bar including your typical food with the exception of donuts, I like that already.  An aquarium will be the centerpiece of the bar with large aquatic murals donning the walls.
Bowl & Barrel – Back at The Shops At Park Lane come this bar with a bowling alley similar to  the concept of Splitsville or as they call it “boutique bowling” with 15 lanes and a one of a kind beer hall. This could be an interesting one to keep an eye out for, I can already see some wagers being made on those lanes.
Max’s Wine Dive – Another piece of the Austin invasion lands in Dallas on Mckinney Ave. You want fried chicken and champagne? They got you covered as well as what is lauded as one of the best mac & cheese dishes you have had. With locations in San Antonio, Houston and it’s roots in Austin, Dallasites will flock to this place on the very congested McKinney Ave. Max’s will be in the former Border’s Books building.
Lemon Bar – While not a new place they are moving to a new location from West Village to Henderson Ave in the old Cuba Libre/Alma space. As well as the new move a new location will be opening in Frisco slated for Aug. 4th
This is just the beginning, there are a few more places to open very soon and CraveDFW is working on the details for you.
