The Whole Belly Clams Are In At Sea Breeze

While clam strips are often a staple on the menu of seafood restaurants across the country, normally foodies have to travel to New England to find whole belly clams on the menu.  A staple of coastal areas like Ipswich, Massachusetts, whole belly clams use the whole interior of steamer clams, while clam strips use sliced portions of hard-shell clams.  For this special weekend, Sea Breeze will offer whole belly clams two different ways:

New England Clam Roll — $16.99

Whole Belly Fried Clam Plate — $24.99

Fishmonger Rick Oruch scheduled the weekend in response to customer interest.  “We have a strong customer base of seafood lovers originally from New England who have since moved to North Texas,” notes Oruch.  “While they often come in to enjoy our clam chowder or other New England specialties, whole belly clams are very popular, and are not available anywhere else in the region.”

Recognized as a top destination for seafood by the Dallas media, Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill is located in LakeSide Market near the intersection of Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway.  Sea Breeze features a full fish market showcasing a wide variety of fresh and wild seafood from across the planet, as well as a Chef at Home case featuring prepared foods.

I wasn’t crazy about the fried belly clams I had there last time they were on the menu. Too soggy! Like, the oil wan’t hot enough. But that said, I’m more than willing to give them another try.
I think their lobster roll is probably the best in town. Especially for it’s lower price than Sea Breeze’s competitors
    south of LBJ.
