Tomorrow afternoon at Flag Pole Hill, Miracle Players Foundation will be hosting its third annual Peace, Hope, & Butterflies family fun and music festival. In addition to being a fabulous event for the whole family to enjoy, with live music including Five Times August, Fox and the Bird, August and J, and Dovetail, a petting zoo, obstacle course, pirate ship, arts and crafts, a giant slide, local art vendors, and of course food trucks, it’s one you can be proud to attend. 100% of proceeds from the event go directly to funding childhood cancer research at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
Miracle Players Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support pediatric cancer research programs at Children’s, and also provides in-hospital arts programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families, and out of hospital opportunities that allow the children to forget about their illness for a time and focus on being kids. The event tomorrow will culminate in the release of 500 butterflies by Dallas area “childhood cancer warriors.” A butterfly can be sponsored for $15, and the name of the person your butterfly honors will be displayed at the event.
Disney Channel fans will be thrilled to see “Shake it Up” star Kenton Duty on hand to meet and greet, supporting the cause.
The event is from 2pm to 6pm at 8100 Doran Circle, Dallas, TX 75238. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 13 and younger, and can be purchased in advance through the foundation’s website: www.miracleplayersfoundation.org. My family will be there, and we hope to see you!
